Dr. Simon Walusimbi (MBCHB, MSc, DTM&H, PhD) is a Public Health Physician with extensive experience in health program design, implementation, and evaluation. He is a Senior Research Fellow with Makerere University Lung Institute, with a diverse educational background including a PhD in Medicine.

Dr. Walusimbi’s expertise lies in the field of infectious lung diseases, particularly Tuberculosis and its comorbidities including HIV co-infection. His research interests have expanded to encompass post-TB lung disease and other chronic respiratory diseases, most notably Asthma and COPD.
